HP SORCERY IS WINDING DOWN ...

I would like to announce that HP Sorcery is to undergo a phase of 'winding down'. Unfortunately I no longer have the time free to dedicate to posting regular news updates or create new content for the site, nor to maintain the galleries, forum etc. The site will remain in place another 6-9 months and I will reinstate the Wizard News block which will display latest headlines, available to read direct from the Wizard News website. The features will also remain e.g. videos, links etc. and we will probably still add new video to our YouTube channel (hpsorcery). We also recommend The Daily Snitcher website for all your Harry Potter news and content!

We thank you for your interest in HP Sorcery.

Wormtail confirms his return in Potter Films

Source: Moviehole via Wizard News

Timothy Spall has confirmed he will be returning to play Wormtail (aka Peter Pettigrew) in the 6th and 7th Harry Potter movies:

"Well I'm actually.... yes... I'm in the next one", reveals the British actor. "And I'm also in the one at the end – I have a very big scene in that. I think they might be shooting two of them back-to-back – hard to know though, what with this writer's strike and all. They're shooting the penultimate one at the moment – which I have a brief appearance in it. I should be doing that soon."

J.K. Rowling has been confirmed as the principle speaker at the Harvard Commencement Ceremony in June where she will receive an honorary degree.

Rowling to inspire young people to experience the excitement and the sheer joy of reading,” said President Drew Faust. “Her tales of Harry, Ron, and Hermione and their Hogwarts adventures have cast a spell on millions of readers around the world. Harvard isn’t exactly Hogwarts, but I’m sure that her visit with us next June will be a moment of magic for J.K. Rowling’s many admirers across the University.”

“It will be an honor and a thrill to welcome J.K. Rowling to Harvard,” said Jonathan Byrnes, president of the Harvard Alumni Association. “There are countless Harry Potter devotees throughout the Harvard family, and we look forward to warmly welcoming one of the world’s best-read authors to our Commencement festivities.”

Rumour: Deathly Hallows to be split, Spielberg to Direct

The internet has been rife with the rumour that 'Deathly Hallows' will be split into two parts when made into a movie by Warner Bros, and that Steven Spielberg is in talks to direct it.

(Read more here).

As this story originated in a British newspaper, it is quite likely to be a rumour and Warner Bros' current position on the matter is that "no decision" has been made on that film. We will, of course, keep you updated should further announcements be made.

HP Sorcery RETURNS from summer holiday at last!

Ok so it was a little longer than expected....!

I must have relaxed and recuperated so much on my summer holiday that I just couldn't get back into the swing of spending 2 hours every chained to the pc keeping HP Sorcery running and so I gave myself some extended leave!

But as of today I decided it was time to get things going again, although with some small changes. I think posting news every day is a little excessive for one person and so I plan to update once or twice a week with the major news headlines, hopefully those of you who don't have time to visit HP news sites every day will find that of benefit as you can check once a week and still see the important headlines of the week which won't have dropped off the page.

However, even though I have been away from the online fandom world, I have still been recording interviews and tv snippets at home and I plan to get the videos uploaded within in the next week.

In the meantime, I'm off to find some news headlines...
